Original 2008 US one sheet film poster for Man on Wire.

1974. 1350 feet up. The artistic crime of the century.

On August 7th1974, French wire walker Philippe Petit spent 45 minutes walking, dancing, kneeling and lying on a wire he and friends strung between the rooftops of the Twin Towers. An incredible event that the 2008 film documents beautifully.The clean graphics and grainy still from the film make for a suitablystriking poster.

A spot of trivia- Petit was given a lifetime pass to the Twin Towers Observation Deck by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He autographed a steel beam close to the point where he began his walk.

This is an original poster, printed on a glossy paper stock and rolled (never folded) - typical of the period. There is a crease in the lower left of the poster but overall we’d say this was a very good example.

It has been professionally framed using conservation grade backing paper and is ready to hang.

Including the frame the poster measures 107cm high x 71.5cm wide x 2.5cm deep
